We are pleased to announce our work on the design of an identity for an alternative therapy practice. A small design project, but we’ve really enjoyed being introduced to a new and fascinating subject area, that of craniosacral therapy.
Belinda Roberts contacted us for our help on creating a graphic identity for her new alternative therapy practice. Having qualified as a practitioner of cranioscacral therapy, she needed an identity design to help launch and promote her new business based in her studio in North London.
SO, WHAT IS CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, yet profound therapy to restore health and balance to the mind, body and spirit. Going inwards to heal, connecting to the inner wisdom of the body’s inherent healing process.
Trained practitioners can feel, through light touch, the rhythmic motion within the body and it is the re-balancing and re-setting of this energy that can help relieve stress and pain and is suitable for all ages.

THE BRIEF
Our brief was to create an identity that conveyed the serious, clinical side of the therapy and the notion of vibrational medicine and healing. As a fledgling company the identity needed to be appealing to those familiar with this area and evoke a sense of quality and trustworthiness through its use of colour and finish.
With the idea of ‘flow’ and ‘rhythm’ in mind, we explored various wave forms and field-type patterns as a way to graphically convey the concept of overlapping forces and energy.
Initially applied to a business card and an A6 postcard, the chosen alternative therapy identity design features two undulating wave graphics, one horizontal – one vertical, tieing-in with the general concept of the interacting waves of energy held within the body.
The waves and contact details have been set on a rich, deep turquoise background, the wave graphics on the postcard being set in a luxurious gold foil for stand-out.
The reverse of the postcard features further information about Belinda herself, details of her practice and the Inner Wisdom Healing therapy service itself.
