PROJECT: New premium, luxury skincare packaging design development by us for KITA Skincare.
The founders of KITA World contacted us to take an existing skincare identity design and develop it to work for an initial launch of five individual skin moisturising serum products.
CONCEPT BEHIND THE BRAND
The concept behind the KITA brand is an interpretation of the ancient philosophy of the Five Elements; Earth, Fire, Wood, Metal and Water. Based on a person’s age and gender, one’s particular element can be calculated, each of the serum products being formulated to balance and resonate with that element’s properties.
Each of these elements has a defined ‘shape’ icon, colour and an associated ‘resonance’ pattern – all of which were to feature on the product packaging.
Using the supplied graphic design assets which were based around a large 5x piece serum set, we have developed the brand patterns and colouration to create 5x individual serum products with their own matching carton.
The result is a family of five stunning, colour-matched dispensing pumps with simple white screenprinted graphics and complementary outer cartons featuring metallic ink, gloss UV varnish and embossing.
Each serum product has a matching, colour-coded carton and folded instructions leaflet which explains the theory behind the treatment and how to apply the moisturiser to achieve the best effect.
LUXURY SKINCARE PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
We created realistic product and carton mockups during the design development process to enable the client to understand how the various print finishes would ultimately look.
The image below shows the 5x finished moisturising serum cartons, their use of colour and pattern and the embossing and gloss UV varnish print finishes.
We also created tester size sample sachets of the full-size luxury skincare packaging for each moisturiser variety for the client to give away at promotional events and in retail environments.
LUXURY MARKETING AND PROMOTION
As part of the promotion of the brand a series of images of a ballerina were created. The images below are how we have integrated the KITA logo, element icon, name, pattern and colour with them.
These images were used on large printed roller banners as part of the brand’s press launch event, examples of which are shown below.
