PROJECT: We were contacted, based on our design work for Rodial and Nip + Fab skincare brands, to create the tanning product graphics for a new brand; Madame LA LA, with the intention of launching a range of LA LA Tan tanning products initially.
INITIAL STAGES
Our first stage design concepts enabled the client to re-focus and fine tune the brief which led to the development and creation of the carton design and label graphics as they now stand.
Stark white background with bold black lettering and minimal gold foiled elements create the ‘edgy’ American/LA feel that the client was looking for – a look that is far removed from the usual bronzes/browns so typically associated with tanning product graphics.
The sides of the cartons and pump labels feature large scale lettering to allow the cartons to be merchandised with maximum on-shelf ‘shout’. A gold foil adds an eye-catching detail.
The self-tanning range consists of regular and light versions differentiated by a solid fill to the lettering on the ‘regular’ product and an outlined version on the ‘lighter’ variety.
Madame La La West Coast tanning product graphics
PROJECT: Based on our work on the regular and light versions of LA LA Tan, we were asked to look at creating the graphics for their next product. The result was West Coast tan, a face bronzing serum, this time introducing a vibrant, popping pink colour option across the carton and labelling.
As the brand has grown we have also created the tanning product graphics and artwork for the brand’s new bronzing ball product shown below.
MADAME LA LA BRONZING BALL CARTON GRAPHICS
PROJECT: New product and carton graphics designed by us for Madame La La’s 180˚ instant facial-bronzing ball product, the latest in their range of self-tanning products.
The pocket-sized product consists of a twist-up bronzing stick with a transparent protective storage cap and allows for on-the-spot bronzing! We designed the carton graphics and created the final artwork for both the carton and the bronzing ball.
PUNCHY AND PREMIUM
The carton features monochrome ‘pop-art’ style illustrations which appear on the front and sides of the folding box board carton, together with the usual bold, black and white logo and product copy, tying in with the existing Madame La La packaging identity as developed by us previously.
A sophisticated bronze metallic ink is used on elements of the product images and on text headings, conveying the tanning/bronzing nature of the product.
FROM THE CLIENT:
Paul has been a pleasure to work with and he has helped to build the Madame LA LA brand from day one. Paul is creative, precise and professional, and together we were able to achieve great results for the look and feel of the product and brand. I look forward to working with Paul again on future launches for Madame LA LA.
