PROJECT: A hair brand visual identity design for a new, British hair range, called Pure NaturALL.
The style of packaging graphics in the world of hair extensions, braids and wigs is often cluttered, with packs graphically shouting their features and benefits in an attempt at being noticed in busy hair and beauty stores. Amongst a sea of look-alike brands with similar products, hair brands are always looking for ways of standing out (as all retail brands strive to.) Often the packaging is so full of imagery and messaging that the product itself is overwhelmed.
However, there currently seems to be a slight shift away from this ‘busy’ style towards a cleaner, more stripped back look and this is reflected in our design work on the visual identity for this new NaturALL hair brand.
INTRODUCING THE PURE NATURALL HAIR BRAND LOGO
The new logo features a classic serif typeface with a curling leaf detail that entwines itself around the individual letters, ending with a leaf. This creates a natural look and ties-in with the literal wording of the brand name.
With a brief to ensure that the hair piece itself is highly visible (in this case, the packs of single pieces of weave-on hair), the graphics have been kept deliberately minimal and discrete.
A soft, pastel green colour has been chosen as a background and highlight colour to the otherwise monochrome design, again tieing-in with the identity’s natural feel, and appears in just a few key places.
A delicate leaf detail iwith further curly detailing has also been created and is used as a backdrop to the photographic model images.
Along with the graphics for the hair packs themselves, we have also created the graphics for each product’s shipping carton – another opportunity to stand out from the crowd.
We have also recently completed a second stage of artworks for the Pure NaturALL hair brand – 3x and 4x multi packs of mixed lengths of weave-on bulk hair products.
We’ve worked on the packaging graphics for numerous hair brands, one of which you may find of interest is our work for Cherish and their ultra-braid product.
